Gary Jacob, D.C., LAc, MPH
Dr. Jacobs earned his BA degree in the Philosophy of Science at the State University of New York, Binghamton in 1974, his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1978, his Acupuncture Certificate at the California Acupuncture College in 1981, his Doctor of Oriental Medicine at the California Acupuncture College in 1983, his Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy at the McKenzie Institute International in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1991, and his Masters of Public Health degree (MPH) in Community Health Education and Promotion at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003.
Dr. Jacob is a licensed chiropractor is in California (1979), New York (1979), and Hawaii (1994). He is a Diplomate in Acupuncture Orthopedics (National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics, 1991) and a licensed acupuncturist in California (1981). He is certified as an X-Ray Supervisor and Operator (1979), a Disability Evaluator (California Chiropractic Foundation, 1989), an Industrial Disability Examiner (California Chiropractic Foundation, 1990), Chiropractor Rehabilitation Doctor (Chiropractor Rehabilitation Association, 1991), a MedX Cervical and Lumbar Spine Practitioner (1997), an Independent Chiropractic Examiner (American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, 2001), and a Health Education Specialist (National Commission of Health Education Credentialing, 2003).
Dr. Jacob has served in numerous capacities, including roles such as advisor, board member, chairman, consultant, dean, editor, examiner, faculty member, and reviewer (1980-present). He is s currently on the faculty of the Emperor’s College of Oriental Medicine (1990), of the McKenzie Institute International (1991), of the Clinical Sciences Associated Faculty of the Southern California University of Health Sciences (1998), and of the Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (doctoral program, 2013). He serves as a consultant to the McKenzie Institute International (1991), as a member of the Editorial Board of The Chiropractic Report (2007), and as Chair Emeritus of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedists (1992). He is currently in private practice in Pacific Palisades, California.
