CapnoTrainer® is an educational capnometer (capnograph), a carbon dioxide
monitoring instrument designed and used for evaluating breathing as behavior,
teaching breathing as behavior, and learning
breathing as behavior. Medical
capnometers are routinely used for monitoring end-tidal (alveolar) carbon
dioxide in surgery, critical care, and emergency medicine. ●
Educational capnography is about the use carbon
dioxide monitoring instrumentation designed specifically for learning breathing behavior that results
in good respiration. ●
CapnoLearning®, is about learning
breathing behavior for good respiration based on carbon dioxide (CO2) self-regulation. It is the application of the principles of
behavioral analysis, behavior modification, biofeedback, cognitive learning,
and awareness training to breathing behavior. ●
The CapnoTrainer® is a combination
hardware-software instrument for “live” displaying and recording of exhaled
partial pressure carbon dioxide (PCO2) for professional and
personal learning applications. The
CapnoTrainer® is used in more than 40 countries by a wide variety of
professionals, including corporate coaches and employees, counselors and
clients, teachers and students, performance consultants and clients, human
service providers and clients, health educators and clients, fitness trainers and sports enthusiasts, and mental health practitioners and clients. Organizations using the instrument include
healthcare clinics, hospitals, police departments, universities, schools,
corporations, fitness/athletic centers, performing arts centers, yoga
centers, and government agencies. The
CapnoTrainer® is a learning tool, not a treatment tool. It may be used for one-on-one practitioner
sessions, group training sessions (as part of a Capno-4/8 system), and
personal use for self-exploration and learning. The Multi-user Upgrade: $600.00 You
may also upgrade your CapnoTrainer® into a multi-user instrument and use it
simultaneously with a second instrument for couples work, OR make it part of a

Capno-8™ is a group instructional
system for teaching and learning good respiration through
simultaneous carbon dioxide monitoring of up to eight learners at a
time. The
Capno-8™ includes nine CapnoTrainers®, eight of which are connected by remote
hubs to a single computer, which projects the breathing physiology of up to
eight learners on to a single large screen for all to see with an overhead
projector. Display
screens present physiology for 2, 4, 6, and 8 learners at a time. There are also screens for individual work
and for clients working in pairs (e.g., couples). A smaller version of the Capno-8™ is also
available: the Capno-4™. The
Capno-8 package also includes, free of charge, the 4-day CapnoLearning®
